Hey all. Do not forget to do the survey at the bottom! :)

In my opinion, there should be more trained teachers or caretakers on staff at the daycare. This can be beneficial because then the children will get the development they deserve and need. This way, the children will all be at the same level when they are started. Another possible solution is to provide a way to help parents that cannot afford preschool or daycare. Some children are on different levels than the ones who got earlier education. So, if there is a way to help parents financially, then the children will be at the same level.

Interview with Lynda Ellerbe

Ms. Lynda Ellerbe is the woman I interviewed and volunteered under. I asked about what kinds of things she did. I realized she did a lot of developmental therapy with children. She told me that most children do not get the education they need until they are old enough to go to kindergarten. This is important because those children who are in daycare do not get the development that others can afford. Some parents have to pay for preschool and a lot more for daycare. Some parents just cannot afford it.

I have volunteered with a woman named Lynda Ellerbe. She has degrees with being a therapist and works with an organization called ABC Block. I basically shadowed her. She told me all of the things parents have trouble with. Also, Ms Lynda made me realize that some children don't get the proper developmental skills in day cares that they should. As I continue on I will continue to volunteer at day cares or even volunteer with helping Ms. Lynda who has taught me so much.

Childcare in South Carolina is well below par. Children that do not meet requirements for daycare are basically forgotten. Some parents are unable to pay for daycare for their child. How do they get help? I have been volunteering for ABC block and they are an organization which helps parents to pay for daycare until the child is old enough for preschool education.
